If your child was groomed, solicited, or exploited by someone they met on Roblox, you may be able to bring a civil claim against the platform — separately from any criminal case against the person who harmed them.

What these cases are about
Roblox is used by tens of millions of children. Its chat, private servers, and friend systems can put an adult in direct, private contact with a child. When a platform’s design and moderation let that happen, and a child is harmed as a result, the platform itself can be held to account in civil court.
A civil claim is not a criminal prosecution. The state decides whether to charge the individual. A civil case is brought by the family, on the child’s behalf, and asks a different question: whether the company that built and profited from the space where it happened failed to keep that child reasonably safe.
Situations we review
No two of these cases look alike. These are the patterns that most often turn out to be actionable.
What to do now
The single most useful thing a parent can do is stop deleting things. Evidence is what makes these cases possible, and it disappears quickly.
- Preserve the accountDo not delete the child’s Roblox or Discord account, chat history, or messages — even if you want them gone.
- Capture what you canScreenshots with usernames, dates, and timestamps visible in frame.
- Report itThe NCMEC CyberTipline at 1-800-843-5678, and your local law enforcement agency.
- Write down the sequenceWhat happened, in what order, and when you learned of it. Memory fades fast under stress.
- Talk to a lawyer before signing anythingPlatforms and insurers may offer resolutions early. Understand what you are giving up first.

How the firm approaches these cases
Mauricio Padilla has spent two decades in courtrooms on the hardest cases the system produces — multi-week homicide trials, federal prosecutions, and complex injury litigation.
Cases involving children are handled quietly. The family’s privacy is treated as a condition of the work, not an afterthought.
Confidentiality
Nothing on this page asks you to identify your child. An initial conversation costs nothing and does not commit you to filing anything.
Talk to someone about it
